Ford debuts 2021 Mustang Mach E all-electric crossover

For the first time since the debut of the iconic Ford Mustang in 1964, the Mustang family is growing! On November 17, Ford dropped complete details on the all-new 2021 Ford Mustang Mach E. Featuring loads of Mustang-inspired interior and exterior details, the 2021 Mustang Mach E is a five-passenger, four-door, all-electric crossover SUV with up to 300 miles of range on a single charge and incredible style and performance.

“At the first-ever Detroit auto show, Henry Ford said he was working on something that would strike like forked lightning,” said Bill Ford, executive chairman, Ford Motor Company. “That was the Model T. Today, the Ford Motor Company is proud to unveil a car that strikes like forked lightning all over again. The all-new, all-electric Mustang Mach-E. It’s fast. It’s fun. It’s freedom. For a new generation of Mustang owners.”

Scheduled to be available at Ford dealerships nationwide later this year, the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach E relies on Ford battery and electric motor innovations to deliver both incredible range and incredible acceleration, with the Mach E GT model packing the equivalent of 443 horsepower and 612 lb-ft. of torque. That incredible power allows the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach E GT to rocket from zero to 60 in 3.5 seconds, making it faster than high-performance machines like the Porsche Macan Turbo while delivering a better full-charge range than standard Tesla models.

“The Mustang Mach-E wholeheartedly rejects the notion that electric vehicles are only good at reducing gas consumption,” said Hau Thai-Tang, Ford’s chief product development and purchasing officer. “People want a car that’s thrilling to drive, that looks gorgeous and that can easily adapt to their lifestyle – and the Mustang Mach-E delivers all of this in unmatched style.”

Ford clearly knew that any vehicle bearing the iconic Mustang name and running pony emblem had to bring muscular, aggressive style to the table, and the 2021 Mustang Mach E delivers in spades, with plentiful details borrowed from its two-door stablemate, along with the interior room to seat five, with plenty of storage. Inside, you'll find the details you expect from Ford and plenty you don't, including available leather, a sleek and modern design, and a huge 15.5-inch touchscreen display in the center dash.

Available in both standard-range and an extended-range version with a 98.8 Kilowatt battery, the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach E can be charged at any charging station in the FordPass Charging Network, the largest public vehicle charging system in North America, with over 12,500 charging stations. On the go or at home, Mach E owners can rely on Ford's portable fast charger, which can give 38 miles of range per charging hour, utilizing a 240-volt outlet like those that power modern electric stoves and household clothes dryers.

To make owning and charging a Mach E even easier, Ford is pairing up with Amazon Home's relationships with certified electricians to make the installation of 240 volt charging outlets near your parking space or in your garage safe, easy and affordable.
