It's October again, and in addition to Halloween, cooler temperatures, a night of free candy, spooky stories around the campfire and all the other fun stuff, October means we all need to take time out to talk about something that's deadly serious to millions of women all over America: Breast Cancer.

Statistically, one in eight women will face breast cancer at some point in her lifetime. That's one-in-eight daughters and granddaughters. That's one-in-eight sisters and friends. That's one in eight wives and partners. That's one-in-eight mothers and grandmothers.

Some of those one-in-eight have even been women in our own lives.

At Heartland Ford of Heber Springs, we believe one-in-a-million is unacceptable, much less one-in-eight. Ford Motor Company believes that too. One big reason we're proud to sell quality Ford vehicles is because of Ford Motor Company's commitment to seeing an end to the scourge of breast cancer through their innovative Warrior in Pink Program.

Since 1993, Ford has donated over $193 million dollars to breast cancer research, education and outreach through their partners at the Susan G. Komen Foundation and The Pink Fund, putting their money where their mouth is to help end this devastating disease.

In addition to financial support, Ford employees have donated hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours to the cause, including helping design and market Ford-branded Warriors in Pink gear, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to breast cancer research. With their partner GoRide Health, Ford has also donated vehicles, drivers, fuel and millions of traveled miles to provide free rides to and from treatment appointments for those battling, taking at least the hassle of navigating traffic and finding parking off these brave warriors' plates as they fight for their lives.

When we say Heartland Ford is Built Ford Proud, that's part of what we mean.

For more information about Ford's Warriors in Pink, to buy Warriors in Pink gear, and to read the inspiring stories of breast cancer survivors helped by the Warriors in Pink program, visit the Warriors in Pink website, or visit the Warriors In Pink Facebook page. Like our friends at Ford Motor Company, we here at Heartland Ford of Heber Springs believe that together, we can end breast cancer in our lifetimes, helping make sure another generation of women never has to live in fear of this terrible disease.
