The Covid-19 epidemic is unlike any event in American history and requires everyone to be more flexible, from workers to businesses to restaurants, as we pull together and prepare bravely for a different future than anyone might have expected as little as a month or two ago.

Ford Motor Company has helped America weather tough times before, from building tanks and Jeeps to fight the scourge of fascism in World War 2 to keeping America on wheels during the Great Depression. Now, Ford is ready to give America a much-needed helping again, with its innovative "Built To Lend A Hand" program.

Under the program, Ford is allowing those who buy a new Ford vehicle to defer all payments for up to three months, with Ford Motor Company paying in full for an additional three months. That gives every new Ford buyer up to six months of payment-free driving. The program covers any new 2019 and 2020 model year vehicles, including Ford Explorer, Ranger, F-150, Mustang and every other vehicle on our lot, except for 2020 F-Series Super Duty Heavy Duty trucks.

In addition, Ford Credit is developing flexible options for existing Ford customers whose income has been impacted by the Coronavirus shutdown, including the possibility of payment deferrals. Other parts of the "Built to Lend a Hand" program are similarly innovative, including helping dealers like Heartland Ford of Heber Springs to develop online and remote sales techniques, pickup and delivery for service appointments, outlining a stringent vehicle disinfection process for loaner vehicles, after test drives, service appointments and more.
