Every year, we wait in anticipation as Ford releases its new models and updates to the public. In recent times, we have seen great technological improvements to Ford vehicles, both in the ways in which they keep you safe and connected. In the 2021 Ford models, there are a few technological improvements which are going mainstream across the majority of new releases. Perhaps more exciting are the new technologies Ford is announcing. These new technologies are only available on a few models, but we can assume that they will be widespread in years to come. Read along to learn about all the new technologies and vehicle trends in Ford vehicles and get excited about what’s to come in the future of car manufacturing.
Sync 4 Infotainment System
The Sync 4 infotainment system is spreading across Ford vehicles and is now available on a few of Ford’s 2021 models. This system features improved voice control, intuitive navigation and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto capabilities. It also connects to the cloud to provide you with live maintenance and performance information. This year, Sync 4 comes standard on the Bronco, F-150, Edge and Mustang Match-E, but you can expect this technology to spread across Ford’s offerings in the coming years.
Co-Pilot 360
Co-Pilot 360 driver assistance technology is spreading across the Ford line, having been available on just a few models in previous years. This technology includes features which make driving easier and safer, such as lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control. The Co-Pilot 360 technology is available to some extent on all of Ford’s 2021 models, and we can presume that the technology will be available in full in the coming years. Driver assistance technology like Co-Pilot 360 is just one step towards the inevitable and exciting future of self-driving vehicles. For now, the technology just helps you out as you are in full control.
Electric and environmentally-friendly vehicles
Ford’s move towards more environmentally-friendly vehicles is a good thing for all of us. Regardless of your position on climate change, environmentally-friendly vehicles mean that you get better gas mileage and save money as you drive. All of Ford’s 2021 models feature improvements in fuel economy without sacrificing power and performance. A particularly important development for Ford in 2021 is the release of the Mustang Mach-E. This fully-electric vehicle features the power and precision of a Mustang whilst not using any gas. Ford has also expanded its hybrid line in 2021 with a hybrid edition of the Explorer. Watch for more electric and hybrid releases in the coming years as it becomes more affordable and technologically feasible to produce environmentally-friendly cars.
