Spring is our favorite time of the year at Heartland Ford. The dreariness of winter wears off, and the hope of warmer weather, budding leaves and flowers brings joy to our hearts. One of our favorite things to do during the spring season is to jump into our Ford SUVs and explore the nature which surrounds us. We love to get off the beaten path and fully experience the beauty which is the Natural State. We have many combined decades of experience with an Arkansas spring, so we thought we’d share a few of our favorite spring activities with you.
1. Go for a picnic in the tailgate of a Ford SUV
Perhaps one of our favorite ways to enjoy the spring weather is to find a nice park or view, put down the rear seats of a Ford SUV and enjoy a picnic sitting on the tailgate of our car. While the classic sandwich and chips will suffice, we’ve seen some of our friends breaking out the charcuterie board in recent months, and we thing we may try that this spring. The best thing about sitting on the tailgate? We avoid the muddy grass which comes with spring showers.
2. Find a pretty hike in the Ozark mountains
In Heber Springs, we are blessed to be living in the foothills of the Ozarks. This means that pretty mountain trails are just a few minutes away from our doorstep. In a Ford SUV, we’ve found that we can get off road and find a trail which takes us deeper into nature. It takes a little bit of work, but the breathtaking view at the end of the hike is more than worth it.
3. Go for a float on one of our local rivers
One of the benefits of an SUV is that you can fit a kayak or two in the back of the car. We love to take advantage of the many beautiful rivers in our area. During the spring months, floating a river is more about the actual activity of floating than it is about jumping into the water to take a break from the heat. Nonetheless, rivers such as the local Little Red and the Spring a few miles up the road provide great floating opportunities.
So what are you waiting for? Get out and explore the Natural State this spring in a Ford SUV!
